Doris Cao

Flute Teacher (BMus)

Doris (QingHui) Cao was born in China. She began to learn to play the Flute at the age of nine  and shortly after commenced her studies at ShenZhen Art School. 

In September 2017, Doris moved to Manchester to begin her sixth form studies at Chetham’s  School of Music where she studied for two years with Belinda Gough. She is currently studying at the Royal Northern College of Music under the tuition of Kevin Gowland.

During her time in Chetham’s School of Music, Doris performed in concerts at many prestigious venues including Stoller Hall, Manchester Grammar School, and Bridgewater Hall. She was principal Flute in Chetham’s Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Liszt’s Piano Concerto as accompanist for Stephen Hough.

Doris continuously enhances her skills as a flautist by participating in Masterclasses with internationally renowned teachers such as Adam Walker, Katherine Bryan, and Andrea Oliva. She has played regularly in RNCM Orchestras and the Wind Orchestra as Principal and Second Flautist. Doris has also played the piccolo in College Orchestras on numerous occasions.

She is currently teaching in Artist music school as her part time job, for teaching the flute and music theory.
